Cherry loves to sketch and enjoys printmaking, digital arts and painting. She has always drawn and did well at art in high school. Nowadays she uses her art to relax and unwind - it's her happy place. Currently she is taking art lessons at Hagley and finds the energy in the class inspiring. Cherry says she wants to translate that experience to the work she does with the artists at The White Room.
“I like being able to show people new techniques, helping them experiment with different mediums to find out what they can do”, says Cherry. Having a family member with a learning disability herself, she recognises that The White Room provides a place for people to explore art, somewhere where perfection is not the goal and where it’s ok to try out new things. “The rewarding part is seeing the artists feel good about their work”.
