I need a place where I can be myself and not be restricted by labels and limitations often imposed on me.
I want to connect with others because it helps me feel I belong, reduces isolation and enables opportunities.

Our impact

The White Room offers 16 art sessions weekly, from Monday to Saturday, with over 60 artists attending each week.

Beyond the creative studio space, artists are supported to share their work through participating in exhibitions, community art events, and selling art at a variety of events, community activities, and spaces.

‘Nothing about us without us’ is the value that underscores our work at The White Room - each artist has unique creative goals, and our facilitators, most of who are artists themselves, work alongside them to bring these to life. We stage artist residencies and workshops to build on artists’ skills and means of expression.

When asked about what they are wanting from The White Room, artists had this to say:

I want support to produce and share my work because it gives me a sense of purpose, a sense of achievement, the possibility to generate income and be seen as an artist.
I need a place to do my thing, so I can create, express myself and help me understand my place in the world.
